Good intentions, flawed execution
Wonderful staff made our stay extra pleasant, and their attentiveness shined .
Noise disruptions from nearby trains detracted from the experience and the parking garage presents a challenge for larger vehicles.

Easy .9 mile walk to bars/nightlife and the usc campus was just across the street. Although the breakfast bar was extra, it was really good!
The maid first knocked on our door at about 9am...then actually came into the room without knocking at 9:30am, even after I had told her we wouldn't be leaving until 11!!

100% recommend for a brief visit
Friendly staff, clean facility, and convenient location made my short stay enjoyable, as I appreciated the presence of a fitness center for keeping active and a seasonal outdoor pool.
No complaints whatsoever.

If don't sleep and love trains this is a great hotel!
The new building has a huge design flaw with exterior noise! Choo Choo trains all night long and loud cars sounds! Not staying here again price was too high for the amount of noise. I travel a lot to SC for business and this hotel just lost my business due to the noise. There are other hotel in the same price point without the noise.

Staff was nice. I appreciated the fitness room.
Room was cramped and facing the road - we heard every car and truck that drove by, even while running our white noise fan. The AC unit rattled LOUDLY while it ran. Consequently I didn't sleep much. I knew the hotel didn't offer breakfast in the morning but who doesn't give you a free cup of coffee? I've stayed in Courtyards without breakfast before but they did have coffee in the lobby. The night before this I ordered the "seasonal salad" for dinner - it was supposed to have kale, quinoa, almonds, butternut squash and dried cranberries. Two out of five ain't bed, I guess - no kale, quinoa or cranberries. With my permission they substituted spinach and romaine for the missing kale, but half of the spinach was well past its sell-by date. This cost more than $11, which is a lot for a salad anyway, but without half its advertised ingredients...?

Recommend it for solo travelers looking for comfort
The staff was unbelievably helpful and kind. Beyond what I've ever experienced in most hotels! The room I stayed in had a crazy good view of the city. I woke up every morning just staring out at that. And you know how I am with cleanliness, this place was super clean, couldn't find a speck of dust.
It wasn't exactly inexpensive but still manageable given the quality.

I like the location for downtown events and the free 3 mile shuttle.
Parking garage was tight for trucks and SUV's

Location of the facility is ideal.
I booked a room, and later realized I booked it for the wrong date. The charges for that night were close to a $100. I rebooked the hotel room with the appropriate day, and the charges were close to $250. I asked the hotel to waive the cancellation fee since I still used the same hotel just a different day, and they denied my request. I was very disappointed they refused to cancel the fee since it was my last weekend before heading to Afghanistan. I essentially paid $350 for one night of use.

Located close to campus and within walking distance to Colonial Life Arena, restaurants, and shopping.
My room was on the 6th floor and overlooked the pool so no real street noise. However the room itself was noisy, and the bathrooms were small. I had to stand between the sink and toilet to close the door :) Food service at cafe was disorganized. Parking garage is challenging to navigate, but there is adequate surface lot parking.

Rooms and clean and the staff was very courteous. If you have business or are visiting the USC campus, it is a great location. But it is noisy to the extreme.
They provide you with ear plugs at the bedside and a note regarding the need for them because of the railroad and street noise. Even if you use them, it doesn't help much. Rail noise, sirens and general street noise is very loud for most of the night. Note that there a free coffee maker in the room but no free coffee or breakfast in the lobby. You are only given enough coffee in the room for one cup of either regular or decaf. Starbucks in the lobby prices are similar to other retail markets but the other breakfast items are significantly higher in price. Additionally, the room layout in the 2 queen room we had was very inefficient. If you opened the closet door (a bi-swing) and left one door open you could not enter or leave the bathroom. Also, no ventilation in the bath, condensate after a shower is everywhere especially on the tile floor making it very slippery.
